  Anyone here get DF or DA as part of a plan, with family in? Was it worth the heartache?

  i just wonder sometimes if i got found out and got dfd for my views on the society, how would i feel?

  i often think to myself that it would be a huge relief, no more pretense!

  but then the other side of the coin is the family still in.

  I never DFed or DAed, but I told my dub parents I was out. My mother insisted I write a letter to the Society DAing myself. I told her I didn't owe them another minute of my time. For some reason, my mother never outed me, so I was able to stay in touch with her and my father throughout the years (34 years to be exact).

  Two of my sibs and a close friend left soon after I did. So everything worked out great for me, but that's no guarantee it will work out that way for everyone.

  Even if I had been shunned by all, I still would have left. Couldn't take WTS crap anymore.

  Was it worth it? In every possible way, yes.

  i remember having been to a convention or a$$emby for however many days and when i came back i didn't want to go back to work/school because i felt on a buzz.. what was that all about????.

  any ideas?

  [my golf game would have been a hell of alot better if i was'nt banging my head against the wall on saturdays!

  I liken your situation to that of an ex-con who has just been released from prison after a long, long sentence. You're so accustomed to your WT jail cell that you can't see what's out there and are afraid of what you may find.

  The only answer is to get out and look around -- read, take some classes at your local university, join a club, get to know some "wordly" people. You'll soon find lots of places to go.

  BTW, you can hold your Bible beliefs without being a dub.

  I remember as a kid baking in the sun at the conventions in Yankee Stadium.

  The only high I felt was intense relief when it was over.

  i have come here for any advice and support that anyone can give and i really need it now.

  i don't talk about these issues with my siblings anymore because they have already told me that they have no advice and can't help.

  feelings of anxiety have been overwhelming me the lat 2 years and it makes me feel like a scared little child.

  You're stressed out and depressed. See a physician and get those medical matters taken care of. There are good meds available that will stabilize your feelings of helplessness and despair.

  You'll be able to think more clearly and take action when your emotions are on an even keel.

  is our current and present life, (the daily one we live, not necessarily our aspirations) all there really is?.

  what do we have to look foward to if we are aware that we are not infinite.

  if so, what would you consider important to have done or accomplished before you die so that 'your time alive' would not have been a total waste?.

  Leaving the WTS and its braindead dubs is a tremendous accomplishment by itself.

  what are the belongings that jesus comes back for.

  apparently, we were told by one of the elders at bethel who was at the annual meeting in october that the organisation was still not too sure on what those belongings are and that it would be public down the road in their publications.

  they figure it would come out in the april watchtower.

  "I wonder if the org will go after those that have left or faded and say you are either for us or against us."

  They don't have the time to go after everyone that's left, a number that I suspect is greater than the current dub membership. It would leave them no time for their jobs, meetings, and bookselling.

  And it would expose the r&f to ex-dubs who know more about their cult than they do. Dangerous work indeed.

  Do You Appreciate The Service Of Our Military?

  being raised a jehovah's witness, i did not have any appreciation for the military or for veterans.. now, when i see a military person, especially in uniform, i am grateful for their work as well as the fact that they risk their lives for us.. do you appreciate our men and women of the military?.

  Shortly after 9/11, there was a scare that the Three Mile Island nuclear plan in Pennsylvania might be attacked. I saw military jets flying all over the place. For the first time in my life, I was grateful they were there, protecting me and mine. That feeling has not gone away.
